What does “continuous hospitalization” mean?
Continuous hospitalization refers to a hospital stay lasting more than 12 hours. This includes both acute care and chronic care, such as childbirth, medical-surgical emergencies, situations where the patient’s life is endangered, diseases requiring isolation and treatment, or conditions for which diagnosis and/or treatment cannot be monitored on an outpatient basis or through day hospitalization.
