What is SMURD?

Within the county inspectorates for emergency situations, the Emergency Medical Service, Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) operates, with the aviation structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as the air operator, in collaboration with county, regional hospitals and local public authorities.

Integrated extrication and resuscitation teams, specialized in providing emergency medical and technical assistance, as well as teams with paramedical personnel, specialized in providing qualified first aid, operate within the SMURD.
